From September 2019 the arrangements for Parish Office Staffing have changed: The New Parish Clerk is Jennifer Endean and she will have the overall role of managing the Parish Office and Parish Council business. Jennifer or Jen as she is affectionately known spent her early years in Woodford Green attending Churchfields Junior School and later Woodbridge High School, before earning her Batchelor of Arts Degree in Media Studies from the University of East London. It was at University where Jennifer met her husband of ten years, Greg. After graduating, Jennifer pursued a career in the City as an Events manager for a number of large asset management and insurance firms, namely AIG, Benfield and MFS. After an 8 year stint living in North Weald, Jennifer found her family home in Theydon Bois with Greg and their 2 children. Jennifer will be ably assisted by New Parish Admin Assistant - Julia Gale. Julia lived all of her life in Chigwell until very recently, when her family moved to Theydon Bois. She has a background in finance, joining a major bank straight from school, carrying out a variety of interesting roles, also meeting her husband, Andrew there. She left the bank after the birth of her second son. The children are now grown up, the eldest son is an engineer and the youngest son has just graduated from university. Julia has a great passion for reading and books, so when her youngest son started school she was accepted for the role of Deputy Library Supervisor at Chigwell Library; a position she held for the last eighteen years, really enjoying meeting all the interesting people that came through the doors over that time. Now, she tells Village News that she is very much looking forward to a new challenge, serving the people of Theydon Bois in her new job with the parish council. The previous Parish Clerk Caroline Carroll is still with us and is now the Responsible Finance Officer. Caroline will be responsible for all the Parish Councils finances and the receipt and payment of monies. Former Assistant Parish Clerk Sarah Shirley has now taken on the role of Planning Clerk. Sarah has been performing this role for some time in effect, but with the amount of work the New Local Plan has generated, plus the increasing need for detailed responses to Planning Applications it was thought that it would be better to now have this as a specific role. The Parish Clerk or Admin. Assistant will normally available weekday mornings at the Village Hall. The Parish Office will officially be open Monday to Friday from 10.00 a.m. until 12.00 M/D. At other times, or if the clerk is out of the office, messages can be left on the answer phone, Tel: 01992 813442. Faxes can also be sent to the same number.
