An Introduction to the PTA

Theydon Bois PTA have been organising events to raise money for enhancements for many years. There are usually three main events during the course of the year at Christmas, during the Summer and around Bonfire Night. These are punctuated by a number of more low key events which are held at regular intervals.
The proceeds from all of these events has been used to finance a large number of different projects over the years. These include a state of the art ICT suite, wooden play areas for both Juniors and Infants, a Library and Swimming Pool changing rooms. The PTA has also provided a whole host of smaller items which all contribute to the day to day running of a successful school.

All of the projects mentioned can be viewed by visiting the Facilities page. Further enhancements that have been suggested are refurbishment of the Swimming Pool surround, awnings for some of the classrooms which get extremely hot in summer .
In the future the PTA will continue to provide support to the school and endeavour to meet its needs where possible and provide as many of the items on the 'Wish List' as possible.

Can I help the PTA?

The answer is yes.

We are always looking for people to help us put on the events throughout the year. All help and donations are greatly appreciated

The list below gives some examples of people, skills and items that we need:-

Van Owners

Handymen

Carpenters

Qualified Electricians

Face/Nail Painters

Cake bakers

BBQ cooks

Stall holders

or helping for a few hours before and after events putting up tents, setting up stalls and then clearing up afterwards.

Matched Funding

If you are an employee of a large multi national company you maybe elegible to take part in the Matched Funding scheme.
The way it works is that if the employee helps out on a stall at one of our events then his/her company will match the amount made by that stall therefore doubling our profit.

There is no cost to the employee as it is simply a charitable donation by the employer and therefore it is tax deductable to the company

We will at a later date be providing a definitive list of companies who offer this scheme as well as more information as to how you can go about finding the right person in your company to ask.
